| I began breeding and showing Persians under the “Sargon” prefix in
about 1977. With my wife, Chris, I was a founding member of Orchid City Cat
Club in Townsville and I have been a member of the Exotic Cat Club of Queensland
Inc for many years. As well as the Persians, we also bred
British Shorthairs under the “Carinya prefix” with many Best-in-Show winners.
We then embarked on an experimental breeding program to develop Exotic
Shorthairs with great success in this breed as well.
Since moving to Toowoomba some 12 years ago, we have been breeding
Burmese with our daughter, Carolynn, under the “Jovelles” prefix. We are
now achieving very good results with our breeding on the show bench with this
breed.
I became an approved Group One Judge in 1989 and have recently completed my
training in Group Two. I am a Group One Tutor Judge and have judged in
Australia, as well as in New Zealand.
Over the years, I have been involved in the running of many successful shows
and I am currently continuing to develop a computerised program for catalogues,
judges' slips, etc.
