A little about Coordinating Cat Councils of Australia Inc:

This national body was established in the late 1970s to address a need for unification amongst several of the largest cat control bodies in Australia.

The CCCA Inc. now has affiliates in all states that support the national uniformity of policies for the conduct of shows, training and appointment of judges, registration of cats, definition of classes and the awarding of championships. This standardization allows exhibitors and breeders to show cats around Australia.

A little about C.F.C.C.Q. Inc

Host of the 2008 CCCA Inc National Cat Show:

C.F.C.C.Q. Inc is a member of the Coordinating Cat Council of Australia and offers fully computerized registration and pedigree services to all members.

We are a professionally run, family oriented Council and our shows are large, well organised, friendly, pleasant yet memorable occasions. We encourage all exhibitors from all recognized councils to attend.

It has been our goal to offer a large range of judges for exhibitors. With this in mind, as well as our own Council judges, our clubs have invited and will continue to invite interstate judges from around Australia and highly respected international judges are invited from New Zealand, USA, Japan, South Africa and Brazil to name a few countries.

Our international judges are afforded the very best hospitality and are always very keen to be invited back for further appointments. They are always happy to hold informative seminars on their specialty breed/s after their judging appointments to which our members are invited to attend. Exhibitors at CFCCQ Inc shows are eligible to win any of our annual awards. We accept challenges from all recognised councils and these can be used to obtain higher status with CFCCQ Inc.

In order to ensure that our membership remains up to date and involved in Council matters,
we have regular open meetings which all members are encouraged to attend. We also publish a Council newsletter every 3 months that is used to inform those members
unable to participate in our open meetings.

At CFCCQ Inc we have a Management Committee consisting of 11 members who provide for the day to day running of our organization. This allows for representation from a wide range of talented and innovative individuals. Meetings are held monthly and members are invited to include items on the agenda for both Management and Open meetings.

Our Judges Association also holds regular meetings and seminars. Many of our training seminars are open to members as well as Judges and trainees.

CFCCQ. Inc run eleven Championship shows each year and in 2008 are proud to to host the exciting national show. Please take the time to read the following proposal:

Show Style:

The 2008 CCCA Inc. National Show will be run under Australian Open Championship style where judges judge in front of exhibitors, speaking to the audience regarding the points of cat's being judged. Shows adhere to Coordinating Cat Council of Australia Rules and Regulations.

Exhibits are divided into four groups for judging. The first three groups include all the recognized pedigreed breeds of cats:

Group 1: Longhair breeds – Birman, Persian, Exotic, Ragdoll, Maine Coon, Turkish Van, Norwegian Forest Cat, and Siberian.

Group 2: Siamese, Oriental, Balinese, Javanese.

Group 3 : All other shorthair breeds – Abyssinian, Bengal, British Shorthair, Burmese, Burmilla – Short & Longhair, Cornish Rex, Devon Rex, Egyptian Mau, Korat, Manx, Russian Blue, Singapura, Sphynx, Somali, Selkirk Rex, Munchkin &Tonkinese

There is also the opportunity for owners of non-pedigreed cats and 'moggies' to show their beloved pets and these make up the fourth group:

Group 4: Domestics/Companion Cats (non-pedigree cats)

Groups 1, 2 and 3 are then divided into three main classes: Kitten, Cats and Alters. Group 4 has a kitten class and an adult class. All Group 4 exhibits must be desexed before 6 months of age.

The National Show Committee has organized a 'Celebrity Judge' to judge the Companion Exhibits in an extra ring on each day of the show.
